You're a star Riley....you're a star!

A few weeks ago, Ms. Roo was asked by our Corp. Communications team to play the roll of "the puppy" in a PR video. This video will show people what happens to their dogs when they get dropped off for grooming. Riley was up for the de-shedding treatment role because of her coat (she's got great high and low lights!) and her ability to stay relatively calm around a bunch of people.

So a few Sundays ago...we drove to the store afterhours. The entire store was closed for Riley and two other dogs to roam around. Imagine how fun it is for a dog to be around all those toys, treats and all the cool dog things to sniff. Riley's "script" had her coming in, getting assessed, gettting a bath, dried, trimmed and de-shedded all while a camera and a photographed shot at the same time.

A little part of me wanted to play the "momager/manager" role but I didn't. I stayed out of the way and watched the bits and pieces that I could. Riley stayed calm through her bath, didn't freak out with the dryer, loved getting brushed...well... she pretty much nailed every first take....LOL! She posed for pictures, stood still when they asked....and got tons of compliments for both the camera guy and the photographer.

After she finished her shoot, she got a few treats...lots of love and attention from the staff....and mom just knows that Riley's a star! She didn't actually get paid....but man did she look good after that grooming session. Plus, the bag of peanut butter chews mom got for her and her sister doesn't hurt either. ;)

PS: In case you're wondering....Callie is bit of drama queen when it comes to the groomers...she starts to  whine for no reason. She's just not a fan of getting baths and I don't think that would translate well on camera.

Congratulations, Riley! That is really cool.

And I know what you mean about Callie. I remember how she used to get really freaked out when I'd take her to Petsmart for grooming. She'd start crying and backing away, and it was so hard to get her in the door!

I can't tell you how thrilled I am to log onto your blog site two days in a row and find another new posting! NICE! :)

I was glad to read all about Riley's 15 minutes of fame cuz you had told me about it before it happened. Looks like it turned out GREAT! Congrats all around. :)
